The Latest and Greatest in Bad Science Simulations In Adelbert Vester: Humoural Physician, the player takes on the role of a young physician in 1590s Prague, looking to make his way in the court of Emperor Rudolph II. All the characters except Adelbert are historical figures, and the workings of humoural medicine are consistent with the way science was thought to work. Make important moral and medical decisions in a journey to become the best physician in the Holy Roman Empire! Adelbert Vester was made by David Mershon and Mike Sennott during our first semester at the USC Interactive Media grad program. As part of an assignment to make a game with elements of recombinant narrative, we made a paper prototype and translated it to Flash within four weeks. A prototype of Adelbert Vester is available for download. Keep in mind that this is just an introduction and tutorial to what might eventually be a longer game, and the graphics and script are just temporary. That said, it should still be an interesting experience to play. |
